The one from Winterland 10/19/74 featured in the Grateful Dead Movie, 6/20/74 Atlanta and 6/18/74 in Louisville are 3 of my favorites. This one deserves more attention:

It was discussed here earlier but demands further listening. I'm biased though 'cos I was at this show!

The "Eyes" from '74 sound just like a summers day!

Those'70s Eyes are good for what they are, the '80s Eyes (the fast ones) have a very few good versions, but my favorite is the one from Without a Net. There's just so much to it, I don;t think that even a monumental '73 can touch it.

Wait, no one has yet stumped for the astonishing 6-8-77 version? Also, the 9-7-73 version included as a bonus track on Wake of the Flood is stimulating, and I second stratocaster's nomination of 11-11-73.

09-03-1977 is, as good or better...maybe even 11-05-1977 too...either way, this specific time period produced some of the best versions...03-19 and 02-26 are nice too but not as good as the above...

its definetly a tossup between 9-3-77 and 10-29-77, but i have this gut feeling that im going to be blindsided by a '74, just haven't found it yet.

I agree with the two 77 versions. As for 74, Dick did a fine job scooping up two of the best in DP7 and DP31.

Dick missed it?

Yes, I guess he did. DP7 is a great compilation from the run, but the Eyes from 9/11/74 didn't make the cut. A great version though ....

How's everything out east my friend?

All is well out here, i am really looking forward to coming home this summer to see my family and attend many shows.

I listened to the 9.11.74 Eyes, very nice jam at the beginning. Thanks for that one.
